I love spicy scents for the holidays, and making clove-studded orange pomanders is one of my favorites. For some of us who have a hard time sitting still watching TV (that would be me), poking cloves into an orange is the perfect way to keep my hands busy and get another “to-do” checked off my list!

There are a number of ways to make these, the easiest ways are to create simple patterns with the cloves, or cover the whole orange in cloves and then roll it in a ground spice mixture of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.

From delicate pomanders my friend Dana created and grouped them into a giant clamshell for visual impact, to fragrant hearty spice covered oranges I hang from my tree, it’s beginning to look and smell a lot like Christmas around here!

Happy decorating!

Love, Nora

Pomanders are a Christmas favorite in my house also. After the holidays and the citrus has shrunk up a bit, I wrap them in ribbon and hang in my closets.

    Happy holidays,

This is my tradition too. I have been doing it for years. Fun to give people also. So glad others enjoy this too. Thank you for sharing! I really enjoy your posts.
