The past 2 weeks have been a complete whirlwind of activity! One moment we’re setting Connecticut Country House back to rights after Project Refresh, Part 2, then prepping and putting our best face forward for The Newtown Historical House & Garden Tour, immediately followed by getting up at oh dark thirty the next morning to catch a flight to China.

China?

Yes. I was the Creative Director for Ethan Allen’s ‘Muses’ lifestyle book, which was printed last spring. The book features 10 distinct style muses to choose from – elegant and dressy to eclectic and modern – and quite a bit in-between! Markor Home Furnishings is an Ethan Allen retailer in China (83 stores!) and they fell in love with the book. So much so that they translated it into Mandarin! When the newly translated book was ready to make its debut, they very graciously invited me to help launch the book with a kick-off event in Shanghai – home to one of their most beautiful flagship stores.

I’m happy to report that the event was a great success and the ‘Muses’ a big hit! Translation aside, it amazes me just how well good design, beautiful photography, and simple phrases really do transcend any language.

If you would like a copy of the original English version of ‘Muses’ by Ethan Allen, visit http://www.ethanallen.com to find your local Ethan Allen and pick up a copy for yourself. What muse are you?

Good to see the world, happy to be back home.

Love, Nora
