An Edible Arrangement
Before planting that flat of perfectly gorgeous lettuce you just bought, how about using it as a simple summery centerpiece first?
Beautiful spring green romaine lettuce makes for an unexpected, inexpensive and unique arrangement. At home on a kitchen island or party ready placed outside on a picnic table, it looks great anywhere. It’s so easy that feline supervision, while always welcome, isn’t necessary.
You will need:
A rectangular basket
An aluminum foil pan – found in the baking section of your market or a dollar store.
A full or ½ flat of any kind of lettuce
Some assembly required:
Water the flat of lettuce.
Line the basket with the aluminum foil pan.
Place flat into the lined basket.
When you’re finished using the lettuce for decorating, either plant in the garden or make a fabulous green salad!

I have done this with flats of annuals, such as pansies, for center pieces on my table. They’re beautiful! I never thought about using lettuce. Thank you! ????
