Last Tuesday was an emotional day for the Murphy’s. Tuesday marked another milestone for our family – Conor’s high school graduation. Murph and I tried to hold it together, but a milestone like this one flooded our minds with the everyday Conor moments and childhood milestones that instantly brought big broad smiles and tears to our faces.

As Conor’s name was called to receive his diploma, we watched his beaming face as he confidently shook hands with all the school’s dignitaries. Murph and I spontaneously jumped up and cheered him on, only to realize that we were just part of the larger group cheering – a “wow” moment that meant so much to us. We couldn’t be prouder!

Right after the ceremony ended, and the newly graduated class of 2015 filed outside, we found Conor in the company of his best friends, hugging each other with the same beaming faces as on stage. Murph and I joined in the hug fest, and took turns posing with our proud graduate.

But it wasn’t until Murph and Conor, put their arms around each other and stood side by side mugging for the camera, that their faces said it all. All those everyday moments and milestones had come together right there in that moment. The two peas in a pod, father and son, teacher and student, blessed to be strongly bonded by love, respect, and a great sense of humor.

You’ve done an outstanding job Rick Murphy. Thank you. Conor and I could not be more proud of you!

Happy Father’s Day! Love, Nora
